5th Annual St Urhos Tourney!!!
Know that long ago, in far Finland, the wine crop was threatened by
hoards of Grasshoppers. Into the maelstrom of Vinter's difficulty stepped a Giant
of a Man, Urho, Mighty Urho, who with his pitchfork chased the evil Grasshoppers from
all of Finland. Forever earning him the love and honor due a Finnish Saint..Saint Urho!!!
His Heroic deed is commemorated every March the day before St Patricks Day
(some 2nd rate Irish Saint) and we, the members of House Taivassalama, hold a
Wonderous Tournament in his honor WITH FABULOUS PRIZES!!!!
This year we're including Kubb** (Yeah, yeah I know Kubb is Swedish...but Sweden was once
part of Greater Finland, hehe hehe, maybe we'll have wife carrying races next year!!)
**Kubb is a throwing game where teams try to knock down the opposing side's pieces with a
short throwing stick.

(Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1908 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury NC 28144)
Site Restrictions: Pets on leashes and outdoors only. No Alcohol.
Cost: Adult SCA Members, $2.00 site fee
Cost: Adult non-members, $2.00 site fee + $3.00 non-member surcharge = $5.00 site fee
Cost: Kids 12 and under, site fee free
Feast $6.00 for Pasty Dinner (Pastys are Corni...uh Finnish Meat Pies)

16:30-17:00 A&S Dessert competition (Best use of grasshoppers and/or Purple and green in a Dessert)
18:00-19:30 Pasty feast (Feast limited to 40 people)
20:00-22:30 Dancing / 23:00 Site closes
